A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "Z"

Title: Zoe's Room
Author/Illustrator: Bethanie Deeney Murguia
Publisher: Arthur E Levine Books

Ages: 4-8

"Zoe loves her room, especially at bedtime.
Every night, after Mama readers her one book,
gives her one kiss, and turns out the light...

Zoe turns it right back on.
There is so much to be done."

Synopsis: When Zoe, the Queen of the universe, starts sharing her room with her sister Addie, sparks fly as Zoe tries to continue her nighttime adventures. But it only takes one thunderstorm for Zoe to realize having a roommate might not be a bad thing.

Why I liked it: Every little girl wants to be Queen of her own domain and fun-loving Zoe is no different. Ms. Murguia creates a cute story with lovely illustrations to spotlight the universal theme of sibling rivalry and the sisterly bond that can form if only given a chance.

  1. This sounds like an interesting one; I used to share a bedroom with my younger sister, so I understand the pros and cons of that :)

    1. Hi Hilary! I read children's books all the time...even when I'm the only one reading them. Sometimes I only have a few minutes and a great picture book keeps my mind engaged...;~)
