A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "B"

Title: Bear Snores On

Author: Karma Wilson
Illustrator: Jane Chapman
Publisher: Margaret K McElderry Books

Ages: 4-8

"In a cave in the woods,
in his deep, dark lair,
through the long cold winter
sleeps a great brown bear."

Synopsis: All Bear wants to do is sleep Winter away but the other woodsy animals have other ideas of what to do in a snug warm cave during a blustery snowstorm. But will Bear stay asleep when there's a party going on?

Why I liked it: I'm a sucker for a good rhyming story and Ms. Wilson certainly delivers with this delightful tale of one sleepy bear. Younger readers will enjoy discovering who joins little Mouse for a party on a cold winter's night and everyone will smile at the adorable ending.

  7. This is so cute! I'm going to have to get one of these for my kindergarteners. (It would be awesome if you could link the books to Amazon, so I can find them in a rush, but it's just a suggestion, of course).

    1. Hi Alex! Awww, why didn't I think about the Amazon link thing? It's a GREAT idea and I will try to go back and add the link but I'm in the middle of a very labor intensive writing course for chapter books right now and I'm afraid I won't have the time to backtrack since all my posts are already scheduled for the month. I also run a martial arts training facility that takes up 10 or more hours of my time per day so what little time I have left over my cat gets which leaves me little time for sleep...lol...
