A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "A"

"A is for ABIGAIL ADAMS, who knew that women should be heard."
Synopsis: While there are many history books dedicated to the accomplishments of American men over the ages, there are plenty of American women who have, sometimes quietly and sometimes with explosive results, also made lasting contributions to their country. A IS FOR ABIGAIL takes a peak at some of those brave women who sacrificed much to follow their dream of making America a land of opportunity for all.

Why I liked it: I have always been fascinated with history and historical figures. The pages are full of wonderful illustrations crammed full of historical facts. It's a great book for homeschoolers as well as anyone just wanting to know more about the incredible lives of some amazing American women.

    An excellent theme, and what looks a great set of books! I'll admit that almost my entire knowledge of Abigail Adams comes from the "John Adams" mini-series, but even that small glimpse showed me a strong and admirable woman.

    Sounds like a great book...and Abigail Adams is right - women SHOULD be heard! I may think about including this book in our homeschool lessons.

    This sounds like a good one! I'll consider it as a gift in the future. My daughter is 16 and was a early lover of books. I discovered her re-reading the BFG a few days ago! Her copy is well worn and must have been read through at least five times over the years. She discovered it in second grade and still laughs out loud!
