Why you should read it: The cute cover of Just Sayin' caught my eye before I even knew what the book was about. Author Carol McAdams Moore has created two different devotionals aimed at preteen boys and girls who might be struggling with identifying just what their religious beliefs might be. This one is for girls and filled with opportunities to draw, make lists, and show a little bling as they go through the pages covering 90 days of working their way through sections of the Bible. 

While I like the overall idea of this book with its doodle pages, Scripture references and thoughtful prompts, somewhere along the way this devotional left me feeling like something was missing from the overall intent of this endeavor to strengthen my religious foundation. Maybe it is because I’m much older than the author’s intended audience. In any case, preteen girls looking for some general information and guidance in their discovery of all things biblical might find it worthwhile to check this book out.
