Title: Elecopter
Author/Illustrator: Michael Slack
Publisher: Christy Ottaviano Books
Ages: 4-8
"She scans the savannah from high above. Patrolling the sky. It's a labor of love."
Synopsis: Little Elecoptor comes to the rescue as she flies high above the savannah and watches over all the different animals below.
Why I liked it: The cover illustration drew me to this book. What a wonderful, whimsical play on words story as one little elephant helicopter soars all over the savannah in search of animals to rescue. Young readers will delight in all the fun things Elecopter can do!
Thanks for sharing, getting some book ideas for my almost 7 year old daughter

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your blog looks fun. I haven't quite figured out how to co children's books yet so I write middle grade and YA.

this one and the fossil one looks super cute. I love the Dumbo/flying elephant twist. I would definitely pick them up for when we have kids :)
ReplyDeleteHi Abby! I thought ELECOPTER was an adorable read and if you liked FOSSIL then you need to check out TUESDAY by David Wiesner. Another wordless picture book and truly wonderful artwork! My "baby" is 25 but I check out and buy tons of children's books all the time...not just because I'm an children's book author but because I LOVE the written word and know first hand how difficult it is to get it right, but oh when you do it's MAGIC! ;~)
