 The trail is dusty and the West is wild, but the going really gets tough when you're hungry and all you have is one lone bean.  Slim and his grandson Luis visit the town of Skinflint with nothing but two rumbling stomachs and an idea to get something to eat.  Now if they can just convince  the local sheriff to let them set up camp and boil some water, maybe the town folk will show a little down home generosity.  Time to kick up your heels and sing along, "Chili's good, so is barbecue, but nothing's finer than Fandango Stew!"

      Hi Susanna! Actually, that is what some book reviews are describing it...and I LOVED the Stone Soup book so I will have to go in search of this one! And it also gives me an idea for a story of my own...;~)

      Hi Janet! I will...went by the library this morning to try to pick it up and realized I was an hour too early. I wonder if they would think me a stalker if I just camped out in their parking lot until they opened? ;~)

      Hi Amy! Even though it's the story line that determines whether or not I choose a book for my Tuesday Teasers, it's the illustrations that I look for first and I LOVE the cover of this book!
