Any picture book writer worth their salt will be able to tell you all about PiBoIdMo. For the few oddballs out there who have been sleeping under a rock for the past eight years or so and don't know what it is, PiBoIdMo stands for Picture Book Idea Month.
I first participated in PiBoIdMo back in November, 2010 and eagerly await for November 1st every year because I know host/creator Tara Lazar will have an AMAZING lineup of writers, editors, and agents to help inspire kidlit writers from around the world to let the picture book ideas flow freely.
Registration for PiBoIdMo 2015 will open Sunday, October 25. If you are a writer who could use a little positive encouragement to come up with some new picture books ideas, mark your calendar and come join the fun. Oh yeah...and if you're wondering if participating in PiBoIdMo can actually lead to a book deal, I'm living proof. My picture book, THE STORY CATCHER, was once a PiBoIdMo idea...;~)
Blurb: Addie comes from a long line of readers or "story catchers" as her family likes to call themselves. Every time Addie tries to catch a story on her own the wiggly words play tricks on her. She tries different ways to make those words sit still but it will take a little faith for Addie to become the next STORY CATCHER.
