Author/Illustrator: Mike Berenstain
Publisher: Zonderkidz
Ages: 6-9
Synopsis:
Bear Country is holding its first ever Harvest Festival and the Berenstain Bears can't wait to join in the Autumn festivities!
Why maybe you should read it:
I've been reading Berenstain Bear books since I was a kid. Many of the moral lessons I grew up with were first found within the pages of these bear books. With the passing of Stan and Jan, I wondered if that was going to be the end of the Berenstain Bear legacy. Fortunately their son, Mike, is carrying on the tradition with the latest addition to the Berenstain Bear collection.Unfortunately though, while the illustrations are reminiscent of Stan and Jan's artwork, the storyline felt somewhat lacking. I love the Autumn and really wanted to enjoy the bears harvest festival adventure. What I found was a story a bit too wordy and a bit to passive to keep my attention. If you are a die hard Berenstain Bear fan, this book might be a nice addition to your collection, but new Berenstain Bear fans may think twice before sharing it with others.
