A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "R"

Title:  Rhoda's Rock Hunt
Author: Molly Beth Griffin
Illustrator: Jennifer A Bell
Publisher:  Minnesota Historical Society Press
Ages: 4-8

Synopsis:

"When Rhoda's Auntie June and Uncle Jonah took her
on a long, long hike from their up-north cabin,
her shower as a bucket of cold lake water.

Her dinner as salami and cheese,
and her bed as a skinny little pad and a ratty sleeping bag.
But she didn't mind..."

Why you should read it:

I'm a little bit like Rhoda. When I was little I collected everything from stamps to tiny model horses. I also liked to save a rock or shell from the different places we went for vacation so I can understand why Rhoda wanted to collect rock souvenirs from her trip to her relative's cabin in the woods. And I really like what she decides to do when there are more cool rocks than her backpack can hold.
