A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "L"

Title:  Little Mouse
Author/Illustrator: Alison Murray
Publisher:  Disney-Hyperion Books
Ages: 4-8

Synopsis:

Sometimes the nickname Little Mouse just doesn’t seem to fit, like when you feel as BRAVE as a lion or as LOUD as an elephant. Other times, it’s nice to be quiet and cozy, cuddly and dozy, especially when you’re snuggled up on Mommy’s lap.

Why you should read it:

I can just see young readers being eager to act like the animals introduced in this story. Children often think they are fearless or strong or fast, just like the main character in Alison Murray’s book. There is a nice balance between all the wildness of a child’s everyday play and those moments when it’s nice to reconnect with those they love.

Addie comes from a long line of readers or "story catchers" as her family likes to call themselves. Every time Addie tries to catch a story on her own the wiggly words play tricks on her. She tries different ways to make those words sit still but it will take a little faith for Addie to become the next STORY CATCHER.

  1. Little Mouse sounds like a story that kids could easily identify with.
