A To Z Challenge: BOOK NOOK REVIEWS "J"

Title:  Jeepers Creepers, A Monstrous ABC
Author: Laura Leuck
Illustrator: David Parkins
Publisher:  Chronicle Books
Ages: 4-8

Synopsis:

Twenty-six monsters play in the sandbox, draw pictures, jump rope and learn their ABC’s from a monster book all their own. Learning the alphabet has never been so fiendishly fun!

Why you should read it:

I sat down to read this book to my own favorite beginner reader and at first she was slightly scared by the illustrations. As we got further into the book, she was quickly telling me to wait as SHE wanted to tell me which letter came next and to describe what each monster was doing in the pictures. I think author Laura Leuck and illustrator David Parkins accomplished their mission of inviting at least one young reader to join in the alphabet fun!
