I'm sorry everyone...I really tried to pull together my Flash Fiction Friday post, but I have been fighting an ear infection, strep throat, and bronchitis since last week. I'm on my second round of antibiotics and can't get my fever to break. I'm not usually a whiner and even thought about trying to come up with a story about someone getting sick but between the sneezing, Kleenex grabbing and hacking cough, I can barely see the screen...uuggghhh...
I ask your forgiveness and promise to do better next week. For now...I'm grabbing a bottle of NyQuil, my teddy bear, and crawling into bed...here's hoping I can get some sleep...
Feel better, we'll all still be here when you get back. It's that time of the year...
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
Hi Yolanda! Thank you for your kind words...it's been a rough day.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Hi Donna .. look after yourself - just collapse in a heap til you feel slightly better - it's so miserable feeling grotty - sleep tight and get the good bodies circulating again ... Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi Hilary! My sister has come over to look after me and Tommy is lying by my side so I can't help but get better...;~)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
feel better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dana!
DeleteOh dear. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mona...it's been a kinda rough day...;~(

This is one story I CAN finish. Donna curled up with her cat Tommy. Her sister washed Donna's dishes and did Donna's laundry. Then her sister told everyone on the internet. Even Tommy knew the sister had a big mouth.(or is that heart)?
ReplyDeleteSister has a big heart. SO glad she does! (Tommy has a big heart, too. Give him a cuddle for me!)
DeleteJanet, I like your version...here's to a happier ending where I stop trying to cough up a lung or sneeze my eyeballs out...;~)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Janet is right. Let's make this a happy ending! Sprinkle some thyme into your chicken soup. It's a great germ killer. Also gargle with apple cider vinegar straight up. It will ungunk your throat. Feel better. Tommy - get busy and help your mom get well.
ReplyDeleteHi Genevieve! Unfortunately I can't have thyme OR apple cider vinegar...stupid blood disorder and kidney stones...;~(
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Stay warm. Stay cuddled up. Feel the get well hugs!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks LJ...snuggling under a Snuggie with Tommy...something about a purring cat to make me feel better!
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Donna, I'm so sorry you've been ill for all this time -- and grateful that you decided to just rest and recuperate. The blog will wait. Health comes first. Tommy and Teddy (and sister) will help you get better. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth for your well wishes...hopefully i will start to feel better this weekend.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Dr. Hill recommends chamomile tea with honey. Feel better, Donna!
ReplyDeleteHi "Dr Hill"...lol...too bad I'm not allowed to have chamomile tea...it interferes with the Warfarin I have to take...and boy, could I use some hot tea of any kind right about now...;~)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Get well fast, Donna! Everything else can wait. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teresa, for your kind words. I'm hoping I feel better at least by Sunday afternoon so I can work on Monday's post...
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Oh, no! I hope that you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteKathy M.
Hi Kathy! Thank you for your well wishes...
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
I know the feeling. I'm just recovering from 2 weeks of crud. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Quinn! I'm glad you are feeling better. Mine started with an ear infection which spread to a sinus infection which turned into strep throat and finally I'm now fighting bronchitis. It's the usual pattern when I get ill but despite the fact that I feel so poorly right now, I'm actually on the tail end of things because the fever finally broke and I should start to feel better by the end of the weekend...
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Hope today, is better than yesterday. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Alayne! Unfortunately not so much but there is always hope for tomorrow...;~)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
I just got this. Hope by now it's a little better.
ReplyDeleteTake good care!
We're thinking of you! :)
Thanks, Clare, for your well wishes. I'm slooooowly getting better but this weekend has been especially hard. I wasn't well enough to be able to judge at my students' testing on Friday (first time ever in twelve years) but thankfully we don't have classes this upcoming week so I will get to leave by 6 pm instead of my usual 9 pm or so...it will give me a chance to rest some more...
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Donna, feel better!!
ReplyDeleteHi Susanne! Thanks for the kind words...I'm slooooowly getting to feel a little bit better. It's been a while since I've been this sick and I really don't want to do this again any time soon...;~)
DeleteThanks for stopping by and come back any time!
Get well REALLY SOON!!! (no matter how slooooooow it takes!) That's an order! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Erik! You know I would never say NO to a Black Belt's command...;~)
