Wisdom Of The Writerly Kind...

I know I said I would start my second year of blogging with only posts on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays but today is special!  Not only is it officially my one year anniversary blogging, but I also wanted to include my NEWS FLASH update about my new writer's series, WRITELY WISDOM, coming in 2013.

If you don't already know what this series is about, then here's the buzz...

Beginning on January 2, 2013 and every Wednesday after that,  guest bloggers will be posting just about everything a would-be writer would want to know about the writing and publishing industry.  Now, I don't claim to be able to provide ALL the answers, but my hope is that the WRITERLY WISDOM series will become a resource for anyone wondering just how to get started with a writing career or even some tips authors and established writers might have overlooked. From a reader's viewpoint (and being a HUGE one myself) I think it would also be nice see the author's writing process and just how long it takes on that road to publication from a beginning idea to a book sitting on a shelf!

Here is the most current list of monthly themes and weekly topics covered in my upcoming series.  I want to thank all the fabulous authors and writers who have already committed to providing the best advice this writing community has to offer!

There are still a few topics and dates available (look for OPEN next to the date) so if you are an author or established writer (seriously writing for at least two years or more) and would like to join the WRITERLY WISDOM family, please drop a comment here or send me a request to donasdays (at) g mail (dot) com and I will do my best to add you to the list.

All this wonderful information will eventually find a permanent home on my website, www.donnalmartin.com, with links to not only these blog posts, but the guest blogger's websites/blogs as well for a quick reference.   I would also be most grateful to anyone out there who can help me get the word out about this new series...invite any of your author/writer friends to look at the list to see if they would like to guest blog as well.

Now I can't wait for the fun to begin!!

    1. Hi Susanna! You know how sometimes a small idea comes along...or at least you THINK it's a small idea...and then it almost takes on a life of its own? I don't know what possessed me to think of this one but my hope and prayer is that WRITERLY WISDOM will become an easy way for new writers to have a better understanding of what they are getting themselves into, should they decide to pursue this type of career. For us, it's already too late to step away from writing...it's like breathing to us...;~)

Thanks for stopping by and come back any time!

  7. Oh my goodness, Donna...this is FANTASTIC! What an awesome idea...and you've already got the entire year filled! I see there is an opening in August for 'Picture Books...age groups and formats'...if you feel I'd be a good match for that, I'd love to fill that spot and do a guest post for WRITERLY WISDOM. :)

  10. Donna, I learned about this from Karen S. Elliott - great project!

If it's still available, I'd love to do your last piece of the year on "Online Presence." I do small business consulting to help solopreneurs learn to increase their visibility online, and write book reviews regularly for GoodReads, Amazon, and Shelfari. I'll be monitoring author online visibility tips this year to make the piece valuable and current.
