Rays Of Sunshine

Sandra McLeod Humphrey (www.kidscandoit.com)  decided to award the Sunshine Blog Award to a number of people and I am honored that she chose to count me among the worthy.   It made me really stop and think about all the lovely people I have met over this past year.  The young, the old, and all the ones in between.  As most of you know, I spent the past twenty years refusing to write.  Twenty years of doubting my ability to create anything worthy.  Twenty years hiding my rays of sunshine which could have been showered on someone in need.  How selfish of me to hold back the sunshine...

Even the forest loves a little sunshine every now and again.  Some people go through life struggling to survive the everyday challenge of simply living.  But what if we, as writers, take the time to create a little sunshine to share with others...to shower positive energy on someone who may think the sun has slipped away forever?

Sandra said my task was to choose ten people to award the Sunshine Blog Award to, but I think I will change things up a bit.  I want instead to throw out a challenge to all of my readers.  If you come to my blog to grab a ray of sunshine...if you come to my blog hoping for a bit of inspiration ...if you come to my blog because you know it might start your day off with a smile...then take a moment and pass one of my posts on to someone else.  Help spread the rays of sunshine around and let everyone feel it's warmth.  And if you are feeling really energized, why not create a little sunshine post of your own and let the world know that every day can be a Sunshine Day...it's all in how you look at it...

  2. Congrats on the award! And your mention of "Sunshine Day" makes me think of the Brady Bunch - when they were being the Silver Platters on TV and sang "Sunshine Day" to get their parents an anniversary gift. Now why do I remember Brady Bunch episodes and to my ATM #? :)

    1. Hi Susanna! Lol...I remember the Brady Bunch...loved the first few seasons when the kids were still kinda young but never really watched it when they started singing and performing. I'm glad my post brought you a SUNSHINE DAY moment...;0)

  3. Where I live, the sunshine days are few and far between, so we must create sunshine of our own. ^_^ Found you over at the LinkedIn SCBWI group.

    1. Hi Angelina and welcome to my blog! If I'm reading it correctly, you live in the Northwest part of the country? My son plans to eventually move to the Seattle area because we are both actually kinda allergic to the sun and we both LOVE grey, overcast, rainy days...;0)...I hope you find a wee bit of a SUNSHINE DAY today...

Thanks for stopping by and please come back any time!
