I'll Make This Short & Sweet

Hi everybody!  I don't want you to be worried that I'm not writing a huge blog post today.  You see I'm really at the Children's Festival of Reading and getting ready for more than 15,000 children and their families to stop by my booth!

Now you might throw your hand up in the air, look to the sky and say WHY IS SHE DOING THAT? Well in case you just returned from the moon...I'm giving away 350 autographed items from 30 lovely children's book authors who wanted to participate in this fun event!

I know it's hard to believe, but a wise old owl told me if I just ask all my lovely writer friends from the writing community if they wanted to help, then the gifts would start pouring in and they did!  I was showered with packages from all over the country and it was like my birthday every day!

I'm all dressed up and ready to go!  My bookmarks have been cut out, the decorations are ready, and all the posters are finished.  Now I just have to wait for the kids to show up!

I hear it's going to possibly rain but I'm praying it will hold off until tomorrow night.   And I also hope I get a chance to take a lot of great pictures so that all my friends will feel like they were a part of this festival as well!

But even if it begins to rain, I'm prepared.  I will be under a tent and I will have my rain hat on!  I'm not gonna let a little rain stop ME from having fun!

And I know I will be exhausted by the end of the day but it will be worth it.  Besides...I can always catch up on my sleep tomorrow!  Just keep watching for my blog about the festival later next week!

  6. Hi all! I pride myself on answering each and every comment that is left but today I am exhausted so I am replying with a group message and hope everyone will forgive me...;0)

I started setting up at 7:45 this morning and didn't get home until about 4 pm...during that whole time I sat down about TWO MINUTES except for the drive home. My back is screaming...my legs are screaming...my poor feet are screaming...but most of all I'M SCREAMING..."Wait, it's not over is it? I'm having too much fun!!" I KNOW it's going to take me a day or two to recover and I never even got to leave the booth for a potty break or to see any of the other booths so all the pictures I took was with me standing about 5 feet from the booth and that was ONLY when the crowds let up long enough for me to grab my phone! I will post a blog later and put up as many pictures as I can...

For now...the shoes have come off and I'm about to relax with a movie...ahhhhhh....;0)

Thanks to everyone for stopping by and come back any time!

  8. Loved the baby pictures. My favorite is the panda. I was at the festival and I know you did NOT sit down until the last few minutes. I saw your pre-tan (SUNBURN), too.
